A Scholarship Fund for Students in the Foodservice Industry
Known for his perseverance and professionalism, Bob Taylor was a valued member of the Halifax/Dartmouth Branch of the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals (CAFP). He enjoyed over 30 years as co-owner of Taylor Agencies Ltd. – manufacturers’ representatives for foodservice, ventilation, and healthcare products. He was well-known and respected by many and valued the connections and friendships he made through CAFP. The numerous donations to the Bob Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund are a testament to his positive impact.
The Bob Taylor Memorial Scholarship will benefit select student members of the CAFP and the Junior Chef’s Association who embrace Bob’s dedication, interest and longstanding commitment to the foodservice industry. In addition to their professional memberships and passion for the food service industry, recipients will be chosen based on their ability to demonstrate Bob’s generous, kind, gracious, enthusiastic, optimistic and caring personality.
CAFP is one of the only industry associations that welcomes members from all sectors of the food service world. Members benefit from new relationships and information sharing with food service operators, chefs, consultants, educators, food manufacturing and equipment representatives, corporate buyers, healthcare managers and directors, brokers and distributors. The group is diverse with a common goal dedicated to enhancing the profile of the food service industry through ongoing professionalism and education.
To be eligible for this award, applicants must be enrolled in an approved and recognized Culinary Arts program in Nova Scotia or a member of one of the CAFP Nova Scotia Student Branches in Nova Scotia. Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of one year in one of these programs. Previous winners are not eligible.
Student members who demonstrate Bob’s dedication and interest in the foodservice industry and those who best represent the qualities that Bob brought to CAFP will be considered for the award.
One scholarship will be awarded for each student category, the amount approximately $2,000. The Committee may exercise their option to award the two scholarships in one student category.
Deadline for applications is February 28.
